About Us

Whiteladies Therapy Rooms - for diverse therapists working with diverse clients.

As LGBTQ+ therapists

"As LGBTQ+ therapists, inclusivity has always been at the heart of our practice. We believe in creating a safe and welcoming space for all clients, and it took us a year of searching to find the right environment. Unfortunately, we discovered that not all building owners are open to having LGBTQ+ users in their spaces, and we were shocked to face rejection right here in Bristol.

Thankfully, we found an ally in our current building owner, and we’re proud to have established this space as a welcoming environment for the LGBTQ+ community and allies. While we acknowledge the physical limitation of our space—such as a set of stairs—we’re actively exploring options to address these challenges with future developments over the next 12 months.

We are looking for like-minded, diverse, and accepting therapists who are committed to breaking down barriers of 'othering' in all its forms, including gender, sexuality, sex, race, neurodiversity, and both visible and invisible disabilities.

We also provide space for 'Talk to the Rainbow' low-cost therapists, supporting accessibility within our community."

We ask that all therapists intent on used the space to review and accept the following principles:

The 2017 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) makes it clear that conversion therapy in relation to gender identity and sexual orientation (including asexuality) is unethical, potentially harmful and is not supported by evidence. It updates the 2015 version released at the Department of Health, which focused exclusively on sexual orientation.

The MoU also intends to ensure that:

  • the public are well informed about the risks of conversion therapy

  • healthcare professionals and psychological therapists are aware of the ethical issues relating to conversion therapy

  • new and existing psychological therapists are appropriately trained

  • evidence into conversion therapy is kept under regular review

  • professionals from across the health, care and psychological professions work together to achieve the above goals

We expect all those practicing in the rooms hold the above as part of there ethical framework as a therapist.
